'Morning Blue' ( Stafford Jory, R. 1947). AB, TMB, tall, Early bloom. Color Class-B3L. Light blue bitone.

From Carl Salbach catalog 1948: MORNING BLUE (Jory 1948). Another blue onco hybrid, but different shades of blue from Blue Elegance. Big clear lavender blue with deeper blue veining on both standards and falls. Standards large and round. Broad semi-flaring falls of good substance. Sturdy grower. Free bloomer. 40" . Well branched stems. Early. Each $25.00.
From The Court Of Iris catalog, 1955: MORNING BLUE (Jory '48) E 40" (Purissima X Capitola). Another huge flower out of this famous cross. There are variations in the rich medium blue color according to its highlights and shadows. $2.00
 
From Supplement To The Comprehensive Checklist of Aril and Arilbred Iris by Sharon McAllister, April 2000: MORNING BLUE AB (Stafford Jory, R. 1947). Sdlg # NI A. TMB, E. Parentage unknown. AIS Color Class: B3L (Light blue bitone ). Court of Iris: "There are variations in its rich, medium blue color according to its highlights and shadows." Vallette: "rich, wide medium blue." No information on introduction found in AIS Checklists. Notes: reported as an oncobred by Spinkston in the 1959 ASI YB (p 30); both Court of Iris & Vallette gave its pedigree as Purissima X Capitola; registered as miscellaneous TB; counted as a 45-chromosome quarterbred, an OB- in both systems. Ref: AIS '49, p. 169; ASI '78 YB, p. 64; Vallette, p. 191.
