From Milliken catalog 1945: NELSON OF HILLY (C. G. White). Another of the beautiful hybrid irses for which Mr. White is now so well known. Those who have seen the delicately beautiful "Some Love" will be thrilled with this companion iris. It is a small dainty flower on 18-inch stems and is a gem of a cut flower. Six exquisite round petals of firm substance form this flower. The upper three are tinted most delicately with bluish lavender and they meet at the top. Next come the warm, peach-toned styles and then the beautiful falls which start at the haft with the idea of being horizontal but change their mind midway and turn downward~having the beautifully peppered surface of cream, dotted with cinnamon and purple. $2.00, 3 for $5.00 |
From The Court Of Iris catalog, 1955: NELSON OF HILLY (White '41) E 24" (Onco-bred). Standards of white with a bluish lavender cast rise above cream colored falls which are beautifully dotted with cinnamon and purple. $1.00 |
