■(AB) 'Striped Butterfly'

1958, Noyd

'Striped Butterfly' (Luella Noyd, R. 1956). Seedling N5-34. TB, 34" (86 cm), Midseason bloom. Color Class B1, Light blue self, falls veined darker violet-blue; yellow beard; small area of olive-ochre at haft. 'Butterfly Wings' x 'Cahokia'. Noyd 1958. Honorable Mention 1958; White Award 1962.

Note: Although registered as a TB, 'Striped Butterfly' is considered an Arilbred. Also listed in TB web. See TB 'Striped Butterfly' for additional photos.

Note: This iris has not been accepted as an arilbred by the Aril Society International because it does not exhibit the aril characteristics necessary for ASI acceptance.

An Iris that will immediately add to your garden the exotic feeling of the Oncos from Israel. Already it is seed parent of Jazz Baby & pollen parent of marvelous Chartreuse Butterfly.
