Harrison The 1939 Checklist notes; E. H. Krelage & Son, Kleinen Houtweg, Haarlem, Holland. Established 1811. Discontinued 1919. One of the most famous Dutch bulb firms, introducers of Darwin Tulips and many other rare plants. Originators of Daffodils. In 1874 this firm had probably the most complete collection of Iris species and hybrids that had been made. Mr. Ernest H. Krelage (1869- ), son of J. H. Krelage and grandson of the founder, Presidency of the Dutch Bulb Growers Association, a noted breeder of Tulips and Daffodils was taken into the firm in 1899. Letter 1920."
