1896, Iris Germanica

The Garden p.354, May 9, 1896

Iris grermanica.— The blue and white forms of the common Flag are among the showiest of border flowers this week. Some large clumps of the blue form upwards of 3 feet through on a railway embankment had more than forty spikes, and there must have been forty or fifty of such clusters, thus making a really grand display.
