'Kiss Me Kate' (Paul Cook, R. 1956). Seedling #KMK. IB, 20" (51 cm), Midseason bloom. Sea-foam green with narrow margin of wisteria violet and beard of lemon chrome (Ridgway). (blue seedling #11142 x 'Progenitor') X ('Progenitor' x 'Shining Waters'). Longfield 1958. Honorable Mention 1958; Award of Merit 1960; Sass Award 1960; Sass Medal 1966.

From Longfield Iris Farms catalog, 1958: KISS-ME-KATE (Progenitor breeding). A charming and unique little Iris. The small flowers are cream (Seafoam Green) with a narrow border on the falls of medium blue (Wistaria Violet) giving a lovely cream and blue effect. The neat beards are Lemon Chrome. This Iris starts flowering after the Lilliputs and somewhat overlaps the Tall Bearded season. 20 inches. $10.00.

Will steal your heart away with the unique coloring pretty creamy flowers with both standards & falls artfully veined in fairly bright green & a wide violet-blue border on falls. Sass Award '60.
