From G. G. Whitelegg catalog, 1921: KNYSNA (Bliss). Very fine variety, exceedingly free flowering and a vigorous grower. The long arching standards are clear deep yellow; the falls a deep velvety red-brown. Often has as many as four flowers on a stem at one time. 2-ft. 9-in. |
From Indian Spring Farms catalog, 1927: KNYSNA (Bliss 1917). A very fine variety with small blooms but exceedingly free flowering and a vigorous grower. S. long and arching, clear, deep yellow; F. deep, velvety red-brown. 30 inches. 60 cts. each; $1.50 for 3. |

From Bonnewitz catalog, 1927: KYNSNA (Bliss). S. very bright yellow; F. violet-red. Solana and Knysna are similar, but the former is probably larger and better and possibly grows taller. S. of Knysna are a deeper orange than those of Flammenschwert. If its growing habit were as good as that of Citronella, it would probably be even more valuable than that variety. Midseason. Height 32 to 36 inches. $0.75. |
