| From Bonnewitz catalog, 1927: SAFRANO (Dykes). A new yellow Iris which is not quite as good in color as Amber, and not quite as large as Golden Promise, and not quite as deep in color as Chasseur. The standards are slightly deeper than the falls and it has an excellent orange beard. Very few for sale this year. $7.50.
| From Treholme Gardens catalog 1928: SAFRANO (Dykes 1922) E. 86 G. 88 38" M. S. to L. S. clear straw yellow; F. flaring, same shade suffused lighter; prominent deep yellow beard. Approaches the same high standard as Chausseur and Amber bring a vigorous, tall growing variety of promise. 3.50.
