From Marx Gardens catalog, 1958: DIAMOND NIGHT (Marx 1957) Each $10.00 While most marbled varieties in the past have had lavender or red tendencies, this immensely dignified marble-type flower is a marvel in blue shades. The purple overtones in both petals and styles are of bluish hue overlaid on white and very light blue ground. The rather erect blue-tipped purple styles add depth to the full-bodied, richly modeled flower and lend the golden signals, feathering out into lightest yellow, the effect of light emerging from darkness. It is the largest of all our marbled types, and comes on tall branched 3-1/2 to 4 foot stems. Very late. Pictured on page 3.
