'Ipsus' ( Sterling Innerst, R. 1981). Seedling 944-1. JI (6 Falls, diploid), height 36" (91 cm), Midseason bloom. Ruffled navy blue, gold signal. 'Star At Midnight' X 'Thunder And Lightning'. Bush, Innerst 1981. Honorable Mention 1983, Payne Award 1986.

From AIS Bulletin #241 April 1981 Introducing IPSUS. JA, 36", Sdlg. 944-1: (Star at Midnight x Thunder and Lightning). Smooth, velvety navy blue, ruffled, wide and round. Contrasty small gold signal. One branch and 4 buds. Double and fertile. $20.00. Sterling Innerst.
