1959, Marx

'Knight In Armor' (Walter Marx, R. 1958) Seedling 49-60. JI (double), 48" (122 cm), Late bloom. Light blue veined deep royal purple; purple petaloids in center. From 2 Higo seedlings. Marx 1959.

From Marx Gardens catalog, 1962: KNIGHT IN ARMOR (Marx 1959) Each $2.00. One of the finest of scores of selected Warai Hotei seedlings. Ground color is light blue veined deep royal purple. The central portion is made up of many purple petaloids. The ruffled flowers of stiff substance come very late in the season making it most valuable for prolonging the blooming season. 4-ft. branched stems.
