From Movilla Gardens catalog, 1924: RED DRAGON - JI - Single. Reddish magenta-purple.
From Tempo Two AU catalog, 1974: RED DRAGON (Payne USA) Single. Early-Mid. The nearest to red in Japanese Iris, color is actually magnolia purple flecking and veining on a white ground. Very little white shows through so a reddish effect is given. Small gold signals and purple styles. Strong grower. 38". $2.00.
