1953, Conger

'Bayou Glory' (Sidney Conger, R. 1952). Louisiana, 28" (71 cm), Midseason bloom. Color Class-R3, Meadow pink and rose-petal pink; signal patch, goldenrod. "Royal Sunset" x 'Peggy Mac'. Conger 1953.

NOTE: LA "Royal Sunset" not found. TB 'Royal Sunset' registered to Anton Mego 2011. Iris Register shows LA Royal Sunset; Hybridizer's ad in AIS Bulletin shows Bayou Sunset.

(Peggy Mac x Bayou Sunset) Spectacular rose and pink bitone, flaring sepals that display long, wide gold signal patch; wide overlapping petals that allow the flower to hold water! Five to seven flowers open on the stem at one time; well branched; 28 inches. $10.00. Conger 1953.
