'Royal Highness' ( Mary DeBaillon/ Caroline Dorman, R. 1946) LA. Color Class-B7D. Collected near New Orleans, LA, formerly known as atrosanguinea. Recorded as Vinie in 49 Checklist; Class renamed Louisiana Iris.

From Milliken Iris Gardens catalog, 1948: ROYAL HIGHNESS Gorgeous deep blue-violet ruffled flowers which spread 7 inches and are carried up to a height of 4 feet. It makes a wonderful garden contrast when planted with some of the rosy tones such as those of Mary S. Debaillon. $5.00.
From Walter Marx Gardens catalog 1955: ROYAL HIGHNESS. Each 1.00. Immense ruffled flowers of blue violet and most effective with the yellow or rose varieties. Very tall up to 4 feet.
