From Milliken Gardens catalog, 1952: THE KHAN (Caroline Dorman) Tall, dark, and extremely handsome is this lordly black-violet offspring of Haile Selassie x Cardinalis. The most outstanding feature of this beautiful King of the Bayous is the signal patch which Miss Dorman calls a "headlight crest". This is something new and has created quite a stir in home waters. 3 ft. (See illustration on opposite page.) $12.5O. |
From Walter Marx Gardens catalog 1955: THE KHAN. Each 5.00. The finest of the dark Louisianas. Color is velvety black violet with unusually brilliant orange spears. Extremely large and most desirable. |
