Hybridizer: George Percival Baker (1856-1951)

Kippington, Sevenoaks, Kent, England. Textile Printer, Amateur gardener, botanist, plant collector, traveller, celebrated Alpinist, authority on textile printing with a remarkable collection of Indian examples. Authority, also on rare Bulbous Irises, breeder of Bulbous and Bearded varieties, active member and President of the Alpine Society for some years; one of the founders of The Iris Society (England) and President of it 1924, 1925, Vice-President 1931-1938. Awarded the Foster Memorial Plaque 1932, Victoria Medal of Honour 1933. Author of many books and articles on textile printing and painting, and on hortocultural subjects.
