Hybridizer Édouard Spach (1801-1879)

France - Paris

Born in Strasbourg, he went to Paris in 1824 and studied botany with René-Louis Desfontaines and Antoine Laurent de Jussieu (1748–1836). He became the secretary of Charles-François Brisseau de Mirbel (1776–1854). When de Mirbel became a professor at the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle , he followed him and remained at the museum for the remainder of his career.
