Alexander, Edward Johnston. (1901-1985). New York Botanical Garden, Bronx Park, New York, N.Y. Botanist; Of the 33 names he provided for new species none are currently accepted today as valid species and are considered only natural hybrids. The 1939 checklist conserved them as cultivar names of Louisiana irises.
