Scientist John Forbes Royle

English Botanist and Botanical author. He was employed by the East India Company as assistant surgeon, and while at that post, studied botany and geology and collected plants among the Himalaya Mountains. He also investigated the medical properties of the plants of the northwestern Indian subcontinant, the history of their uses among the natives.
