Subgenus Arillosae: (George Rodionenko, 2009) Bot. Zhurn. (Moscow & Leningrad) 94(3): 433. 2009 [Mar 2009]. The over 300 species of Irises Have been sorted into categories in different ways by different Taxonomists. The first comprehensive Monograph by Dykes, 1914; Subsequently Rodionenko and Brian Mathew each produced their own treatments. Today The Jodrell laboratories in England and Carol Wilson in the USA, each, is looking at the genus with a cladistic approach. The Subgenus Arillosae is roughly equivalent to the arillate Sections of
Oncocyclus,
