To serve as the official Registrar-Recorder of all irises (except bulbous types).
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
He/she is appointed by the AIS President and responsible to the Board of Directors.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITY ANDAUTHORITY:
To receive and process all Application for Registration forms.
To receive and respond to all requests for names or application forms.
To receive all proofs of offer for sale to validate introduction.
To maintain an accurate and timely record of all registrations.
To maintain an accurate and timely record of all officially introduced irises.
To implement and maintain an efficient financial accounting and reporting system for registration fees received.
To maintain a short-term record of reserved names. (A three-year span is allowed between name reservation and completion of the registration application.)
To prepare (compile) the copy for the annual publication Registrations and Introductions of The American Iris Society (R&I).
To coordinate the publication of the annual R&I.
To attend and make reports to the Board of Directors at their regularly scheduled meetings.
To keep the AIS Awards Chairman informed of "Corrections of Previous Introductions" that may affect the Official Ballot
