---++POSITION TITLE: Exhibitions Chair received 11-5-2015 *BASIC FUNCTION:* * To oversee and coordinate all aspects of the Exhibitions program of The American Iris Society. *REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:* * He/she is appointed by the AIS President and responsible to the Board of Directors of The American Iris Society. *MAJOR FUNCTIONS:* * To be thoroughly familiar with the rules and regulations of The American Iris Society as set forth in the Handbook for Judges and Show Officials, 7th Edition, 2007, and subsequent rules and regulations approved by The American Iris Society Board of Directors. * To evaluate/approve Show Schedules for accredited shows of The American Iris Society. * To receive, fill, and ship Show Supplies orders for AIS accredited shows. * To receive the Show Report and Application for Awards and mail the earned medals (adult and youth) and Exhibition Certificates. * To prepare the annual report of the Exhibitions Committee, submit the preliminary draft to the AIS Board of Directors at their fall meeting, and submit the corrected Report to the Editor of The Bulletin of The American Iris Society for publication in the January issue. *SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITY AND* *AUTHORITY:* * Evaluate/approve all draft Show Schedules. * Determine if the sponsoring group is an approved AIS Affiliate. * Send evaluation/approval, Supply order form, and pertinent certificates to the person submitting the draft Show Schedule. * Maintain a sufficient inventory of certificates, ribbons, rosettes, entry tags and medals (adult and youth) to meet the annual requirements of the AIS exhibitions program. * Receive show supplies order form; fill the order and ship the supplies. * Receive the Show Report and Application for Awards and verify that the show has met the minimum requirements for awarding of medals and awarding of Exhibition Certificate(s). * Mail medals to the person submitting the Show Report and Application for Awards.
