The plot of the play Romeo of Shakespeare , tightly choreographed by Jerome Robbins , tells the story of the love of Maria, a Puerto Rican, for tony who , while in 1950 attempting to stop a street fight, kills Maria’s brother and is ultimately killed himself. For much pleasure and adventure and to know more on this Leonard Bernstein’s musical score is brilliant, and Stephen Sondheint, making his Broadway debut, revealed a remarkable talent for writing lyrics.
