'Bourne Noble' (Dr. J. R. Ellis, R. 1979). Seedling #75/23-2. SPX-Evansia, (Section Lophiris) 60" (152 cm), Early-midseason bloom. Standards very pale mauve; Falls pale mauve with purple and yellow spots around crest. ( 'Nova' X Iris wattii ). Won an Award of Merit. April 3, 1979, as a plant for the cool or cold greenhouse, with the following description in Proccedings of the Royal Horticultural Society:
  • "On the specimens shown the stems were 3ft (91.4 cm) long, erect and zig-zag, bearing twenty-eight flowers per stem. Foliage 3ft. (91.4 cm) long, green. Styandards 1 3/4 in. (3.2 cm) long, 3/4 in. (2.2 cm) wide, ovate, wide spreading, margins much waved, tips notched, a colour between Violet-Blue Group 97C and 97D, with silvery white haft; falls 2 in. (5.1 cm) long 1 1/4 in (3 cm) wide, drooping, ovate, white central blotch. Style branches broad and erect, a colour paler than Violet-Blue Group 97D; crests large, much fringed, colour as style branches. Raised and shown by Dr. J.R. Ellis, University College, Gower Street, London."
