'Mainestream Tempest' (Mary Betts, R. 2004) Sdlg. SV5. SPEC-X, 36" (91 cm), Midseason to very late bloom. Dark purple self, Standards (RHS 89B) fading to (89D); style arms (90B) fading to (90C); Falls (89A) fading to (89C), signal yellow (7B) and white, deep purple veins and dots throughout signal; two branched stalk, curved stems, yellow spring foliage: (150B), summer (137B) with yellow in background. 'Orville Fay' X unknown, possibly I. versicolor. British Iris Society 2009.
