From Milliken Iris Gardens catalog, 1955: SMARTYPANTS (Alice White). As the name implies, it is a bold little rascal. Proud of its red veined falls, its sunny yellow standards beam like the smile on the face of a little boy with a fancy new pair of pants. Pert, saucy, and captivating. 16 in. 7Sc. |

- MTB 'Smarty Pants' bloomed at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, zone 4b, approximately, May 24 - June 8, in 2017. It has Purple Based Foliage at the base of the leaves, at least during and after flowering. The yellow beard has a tiny bit of red tipping about the half-way point and into the throat. -- HollyJohnson2017-04-01 - 06 Aug 2017
