■(SDB) 'Pigmy Gold'

1953, Douglas

'Pigmy Gold' (Geddes Douglas, R. 1953). SDB, height 5-12" (13-30 cm), Early to late bloom. Bright chrome-yellow self; falls overlaid velvety. 'Orange Glow' X I. pumila yellow. Fairmount, Brentwood 1953.

NOTE: Registered IB because the SDB class was not established until 1958. 'Pigmy Gold'.

From Walter Marx Gardens catalog 1962: PIGMY GOLD (Douglas 1953) Each 1.00. The color of this little iris is bright chrome with very velvety flaring falls; good form and habit. Fragrant. Midseason to late. 10 inches.
