<strong>'Orville Fay' </strong>([[Main.Bio.HybridizerMcEwen][Currier McEwen]], R. 1969). Seedling T2 66/38A. SIB, 36" (91 cm), Midseason to late bloom. Color Class !B1, Blue self (RHS 93C) with veins 93B; styles 101C at center and 93D at edges. T1 61/Cas 2(1): ([[Sib.SibVioletFlare]['Violet Flare']] x unknown) X T1 61/Gas 15(5): ( [[Sib.SibPirouette]['Pirouette']] x unknown). Second generation tetraploid. !McEwen 1970. Honorable Mention 1971; [[Main.InfoMedalMorganWood][Morgan Award 1976]].

|From AIS Bulletin #198 July 1970 Introducing ORVILLE FAY. 36". EM to L. The 6" flowers have upright standards and wide, horizontally flaring falls of great ubstance. Falls and standards are medium blue (RHS 93 C veined 93 B) with paler styles (lOIC). Very fertile with tetraploids. Derived from two colchicine induced tetraploids from Violet Flare and Pirouete. Currier !McEwen.|
