'Pansy Purple' (
Currier McEwen, R. 1969). Seedling 561/Cas 15. SIB, 28" (71 cm), Midseason to late bloom. Color Class V3, Standards RHS 83B at proximal half and midline, balance 83C; Falls between 83A and 86A but more vibrant, edged 83B,no blaze but 2-3 short white lines at base of midrib; styles 86B with blue tones in midrib, brown haft marks.
'Pirouette' X unknown. McEwen 1971. Honorable Mention 1972.

From AIS Bulletin #202 July 1971 Introducing PANSY PURPLE. 28". M to L. 4-1/4 inch flowers of soft velvety violet purple color (83 B to C) unlike that of any other Siberian I know. Several short white lines instead of blaze. Charming. Fertile both ways. Pirouette x unknown. $10. Currier McEwen. |
