From AIS Bulletin #180, January 1966. Introducing SUPER EGO (McGarvey 1965) 32". This plant has ruffled, open, semi-flaring flowers. The standards are light blue, approaching white in color. The large rounded falls are dark blue at the center shading toward white at the edges. This is a bright and unusual flower. The plant has bloomed consistently since 1962 and was numbered in 1963 (63-2-2 : White Swirl X McG Lg-B). NET $30.00. Super Ego and Ego have flowers which differ from those of other known Siberians but which are appropriate to the species. Both bloom from mid-season to late and both are of the right height and growing characteristics to make very significant contributions to the middle or even the foreground of the mixed border. These are not plants which will he lost in the border. Though both are alike in being unusual they are not at all alike in appearance. Old Brook Gardens.
