Iris bostrensis Mouterde (Paul Mouterde, 1954); Section Oncocyclus ; 4-6" (10-15 cm); Deep purple-brown spots and veins on a yellowish, greenish or brown ground. Beard dense, yellow; signal deep maroon. Bull. Soc. Bot. France 101, 420 1954);

Distribution: North Jordan and South Syria (around the town of Buseira).

Synonym. Iris atropurpurea variety purpurea Dinsm.
