*'Brumback Blue'* ( [[Main.Bio.HybridizerSchaferSacks][Marty Schafer and Jan Sacks]], R. 2003) Seedling #GITW[V#1. SPEC (verna), 4" (10 cm). Midseason bloom. Smooth light Blue violet (RHS 94C); falls with white signal, yellow orange spear: style arms Pearly. Parentage unknown, from Garden in the Woods, New England Wildflower Society. Joe Pye Weed 2003.

|From Joe Pye Weed catalog, 2003: BRUMBACK BLUE - SPEC. verna. Garden In The Woods by Schafer/Sacks, 4', M. From the Garden In the Woods of the New England Wildflower Society comes this terrific little I. verna which we have named in honor of Bill Brumback -their long-time propagator. It is a smooth light blue-violet self (RHS 94C) with a yellow-orange spear on white signal. It is lighter and bluer than any other verna we grow. It is also a more prolific bloomer than any verna we grow. Shipped potted. $15.00|
