__Iris bulleyana__ *Dykes* ([[Main.Bio.HybridizerDykesWR][William Rickatson Dykes]], 1910, Western China); [[Main.InfoClassificationSectionLimniris][Section _Limniris_ ]]; [[Main.InfoClassificationSeriesSibiricae][Series _Sibericae_ ]]; 14-18" (35-45 cm), Color Class-B3M; Standards violet, falls violet at the tips, streaked and dotted with violet on a white ground;

| Dykes,The Genus Iris, Tab. 6, 30. 1913, <img src="%PUBURL%//Hist/GalleryOfPlatesInDykes/Iris_bulleyana.jpg" style="margin:10px; float: right; height: 300px;" /></br>Observations.</br>The origin of this fine Iris is at present something of a mystery. I owe my specimens to the kindness of Mr. A. K. Bulley, from whom I understood that they were from the same source as I. Forrestii. However, on my showing Mr Forrest an autochrom photograph of the Iris, he told me that he did not remember collecting the plant or even seeing it in the wild state. I. Bulleyana is perhaps best described as an I. Clarkei with a hollow, unbranched stem. In some ways it is very close to I. Forrestii but its seeds and capsule and also the poise of the segments of the flower are quite different.</br>In cultivation it apparently requires the same conditions as I. Forrestii.|
