(SPEC) 'Frank Kalich'

1997, Niswonger

'Frank Kalich' ( O. David Niswonger, R. 1997). Seedling # L1-95: SPEC (lactea), height 20" (51 cm), Midseason bloom. I. lactea from seed sent to me by Frank Kalich of Albuquerque, New Mexico from Russia marked "I. songarica". Many who have seen it feel it is not songarica but lactea. This reverse bicolor with blue standards and white falls is quite unique. It would look great in a rock garden and is an easy grower. Fertile". Cape Iris Gardens 1997. A variation of Iris lactea Pallas.
