‘Frenier'. (Jesse Nicholls Jr., R. 1933). Series Laevigatae. Midseason late bloom. Color Class B7L; Described in Nicholls' catalog as "36in. Our largest and strongest growing form of Carolina. Very large pale mauve flowers with pretty golden throat. This was found at Frenier Beach, back among some very rare and picturesque old black palms." 2n=70. Nicholls Jr. 1933; Nic.1933.
