(SPEC) Iris hermona Dinsm.
1933, Botanical author Dinsmore
Iris hermona Dinsm. (J. E. Dinsmore, 1933, ex Bacher 1912, Kunaytrah, Palestine); Section Oncocyclus; Early bloom season; height 20" (50 cm); W8L; Flowers up to 4" (10 cm) diameter, cream-yellow ground; veined and dotted brown purple with similar colored beard and signal blotch. Style branches creamy white; Anthers yellowish white filaments purple.
Distribution: Israel - Golan Heights and mt. Hermon. Intermediate forms between I. hermona and I. bismarckiana are also present in the Hermon.
