'Japonica Ledger' Section Lophiris, (Evansia), (Brought from the garden of the British Legation in Tokyo to England by Sir Frederick Lugard, introduced 1925, hardier than the type. height 18" (46 cm), white flowers marked with purple, crest orange "crinkled and crisped at the edges of the segments". The most commonly grown form. "Perennial Garden Plants" G.S.Thomas; Wallace 1925.
