'Mar-Jan' (Harry Bishop, R. 1990) Seedling #SI-B-U-10-E. SPEC (versicolor), 26" (66 cm). Midseason bloom. Standards wine red (RHS 71A); style arms white, rib wine red; falls wine red (71A) aging paler (71B or lighter), yellow white signal. Iris versicolor Kermesina X unknown. Joe Pye Weed 1993. From AIS Bulletin #289 April 1993 Introducing MAR-JAN-VERSICOLOR. Harry Bishop (Seedling No. SI-B-U-10-E), 26", M. The best wine-red versicolor yet! The smoothness of the color of both standards and falls is unique and is enhanced by neat round white signals veined deep red. The stylearms are pearly white with a wine-red central stripe, much darker in the heart and fading towards the curly crests. I. versicolor "Kermesiana" X unknown. $25.00. Joe Pye Weed's Garden.
