Iris orchioides Carrière (

Iris orchioides can be distinguished from Iris bucharica with which it had been confused for a long time by the large wings on the hafts of the falls which form a channel to direct pollinators. Bucharica has no enlarged wings. Dykes original key separated orchioides from bucharica but Dykes had not seen the true orchioides but was looking at a pure yellow form of bucharica.
