Official introduction from Schreiner's Iris Lovers catalog in 1945: ALADDIN'S WISH, A. L. Murawska, River Grove, Illinois.
In new iris true originality whether in a novel new pattern or in color is a comparatively rare occurence. Generally an iris can be compared to another fo a particular similarity. The striking difference in Aladdin's Wish is the unimitated pattern of coloring which stamps this iris as one alone. Singular is the unexpected new manner of coloring. The whole flower is a lovely shade of ducet medium blue with brushings of cream radiating through the flower like the first rays of sun breaking through a lightly overcast dawn. The coloring is brushed rather than blended or perceptibly fading from one color to another. So uncommon is the configuration is immediately noticed. It is individually different from any iris and should not be visualized as any type of plicata nor is its coloring similar to the borderline white-blue or blue-white iris as White Wedgewood. In all our experience with iris we have never seen an iris like this. The flowers are very large, broad full standards and copiously formed falls; tall, 36 inch branched stems, good substance. Price each $15.00
From Schreiner's catalog, 1947: ALADDIN'S WISH (Murawska 1945) M . 36". Something new- a singularly different iris, white brushed blue . The color is brushed on as if with blue chalk rather than blended. The cream color radiates through the flower like the first gentle rays of the sun. Blooms are very large, most unusual and lovely. A real innovation in an original flower, different from any other iris. $8.00.

From Milliken Gardens catalog, 1949: ALADDIN'S WISH (Murawska) An unusual flower which is like a porcelain on which a coating of blue has been superimposed on pale cream and then in the heating the blue color has become thin along the veins and in areas about the bases of the standards and falls. It can be used to advantage in flower arrangements, especially with solid colors. 3 feet. $3.00; 3 for $7.50.
ALADDIN'S WISH: Something new in plicatas. White brushed brilliant blue. Doing well. Calif. _["Varietal Comments" _The Bulletin of the American Iris Society, No. 103, (October 1946): 62.]
Sold in the following catalogs: Milliken 1949; Schreiner's 1945; Tell 1947.
