From 1954 Groveland Gardens Catalog; "Alba Royale (Fielding R. 1954) (Snow Flurry X Azure Skies) 40''. This is a superb white iris with flaring falls and heavy substance and with only a hint of yellow in its throat and beard. Its branching is excellent and a total of 12 blooms may be expected from each well grown stalk. It will produce seed plentifully if pollenized by a congenial mate. It also carries pollen. The stalk that received so much acclaim at the 1953 Hollywood Iris Show, had been grown without any special care on the north side of a five foot wall where it got plenty of light but no direct sunshine. A small side dressing of bone meal had been applied. Its height of 45 inches was perhaps due to "reaching for the sun rays.'' In a sunny location about 40'' may be expected. $20.00 net.
From Melrose Gardens catalog, 1958: ALBA ROYALE (Fielding 15-4) 4011. We particularly like this one because it is a big TAILORED white and most of the whites have recently run to ruffling. An exceptional show iris, sister to HIGH TOR. 3.50
