References:

From Sass catalog, 1949: ALEPPO PLAIN (J. Sass, 1943)-A yellow plicata. Cream ground heavily dotted and sanded on edge forming a border of Pansy Purple. Large flowers on 36-inch good branching stems. $3.00
From Carl Salbach catalog 1950: ALLEPO PLAIN. Beautiful and unusual plicata. Standards, deep brownish purple, shading to cream in center. Falls, cream, heavily dotted and stitched with the same color as standards. Blooms of firm substance andgood form. Mid-season. 30". $2.00 each.
