From Quality Gardens catalog 1931: ANDREW JACKSON (Kirkland 1929) E. 40" S.F. A flower of great size, heavy substance and perfect form. The general effect is a rich red violet. S. Saccardo’s violet. F. raisin purple, shading at the edge to Rood’s violet. The plant is most vigorous and hardy. It blooms early and a few clumps will dominate the early garden. $5.00.
