1951, Tompkins

'Apricot Supreme' (Chet Tompkins, R. 1951). TB, 40" (102 cm), Late midseason bloom. Color Class-OR1, Apricot-toned shell-pink self, geranium-red beard. (('Springmaid' x 'Far West') x ( 'Flora Zenor' x Loomis seedling SQ 73) x (Hall seedling 4205 x 'Pink Salmon')). Fleur de Lis 1951. High Commendation 1950 (under name); Honorable Mention 1951.

1951 catalog gives; "APRICOT SUPREME. (Tompkins 1951) M. 38-4 in. A self of rich gleaming Apricot Pink with a full beard of deep Geranium pink. The flowers are very well formed and of large size with broad full petals. Stalks are tall and strong with extra choice branching. The plants are very hardy with luxuriant foliage. Highly Commended by A.I.S. 1950. No. 49-36 ((Spring Maid x Far West) x (SQ73 x Hall 42-05)) x Pink Salmon Net $25.00
From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1956: APRICOT SUPREME (Tompkins 1951) M. 38-40 in. (((Spring Maid x Far West) x Flora Zenor) x (Hall 42-05 x Loomis Sq73)) x Pink Salmon. A tall, very well branched iris of deep apricot coloring. The flowers are large with broad heavily substanced petals, and the beard is very full and of an extremely brilliant shade of apricot red. H.M. 1951. $3.00.
