| From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog, 1964: BALINESIAN (Tompkins 1964) M.L. 40 in. (War Bonnet x Allaglow) x Clarion Call. If a bloom of this were placed in the "Giant Iris Class", it would still be a giant amongst giants, and is probably one of the largest Iris we have grown. A blended bicolor, its huge, broad ruffled and domed standards are of glittering amber, tinted and flushed pinkish rose and its huge, ultra large falls, wide and semi-flaring are a smoothly blended shade of deep orange red. It has very strong, tall and well-branched stalks that carry its mammoth flowers in a pleasing, well balanced style. It is long-lasting with heavy substance and very clean, unveined finish. Tremendously spectacular as a show piece and a good grower too. Should be a fascinating parent, and this year should tell. No. 61-159. Net 15.00
