1920, Vilmorin

'Ballerine' (Vilmorin, R. 1920). Seedling year 1909. TB, 48", Midseason bloom. Color Class B3M, Light. Standards pearl blue with violet tinge; Falls manganese violet, bronzed outer haft; white beard tipped orange.

Revue Horticole, 1922, p. 237. Large pallida with soft stems, exceeding 4' and huge light blue-violet flowers, with very round divisions, sweet scented. Semi-early.
From Indian Spring Farms catalog, 1927: BALLERINE (Vilmorin 1920) 9.4. One of the very finest lavender bicolors. S. broad and waved at the margins, of light blue-violet; F. a deeper blue. Very sweet scented flower, of large size, on stems 48 inches tall. A really grand variety. $1.00 each.
