| From Keith Keppel Iris catalog, 2017: BARBADOS L 34” (((Midnight Oil x Charleston) x 98-204H, pollen parent of High Octane) X (Inside Track x Spice Lord)) #07-184G. Plicatas were early-season fare in the old days, but no more; this is a plic to close out the season! Ruffled flowers are heavily marked greyed huckleberry purple to windsor purple on ivory to light yellow ground. Dark beards combine violet blue, bronze, and mustard brown, with a touch of flame deep in the throat. Seven to nine buds. (Charting this parentage is almost as confusing as charting our family's Sandifer branch lineage after they emigrated from Barbados.) $50.00.
