From Iris Test Garden Catalog, 1955: CASINO. (Plough 1955) E. L. 40 in. No. 48-3 (Wm. Mohr x Firecracker). A huge rosy Mulberry self (closest to Magnolia Purple by Wilson). Falls have Mohr veining in an intricate pattern. The semi-flaring flowers are of very firm substance, very large and well rounded form, and long lasting. Beard is brownish yellow; this one draws from all that see it, and nothing in commerce like it. $15.00 |
From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1956: CASINO (Plough. 1955). EL. 40 in . (Wm.Mohr x Firecracker). Another fine new Mohr hybrid done in rich tones of mulberry with deeper onco pattern of veining. The flowers are very large and have fine form with broad rounded petals. 12.00. |
