'Cathedral Bells' (M. D. Wallace, R. 1952). Seedling# 5076. TB, 44" (112 cm). Midseason bloom. Color Class-OR1, Pink self, strawberry beard. (Seedling# 48-9: Hager blend seedling x 'Overture') X (seedling# 48-35: 'Golden Spangle' x Muhlestein tangerine pink seedling# 46-22). Wallace Gardens 1953. Certificate of Commendation 1951, 1952; Honorable Mention 1953; Judges' Choice 1954; Award of Merit 1956.

From Wallace Iris Gardens catalog, 1955: CATHEDRAL BELLS - (Wallace '53) M. 38 in. (Hagen Pink Blend x Overture) x (Golden Spangle x Pink Tower). A tall well branched baby ribbon pink. The wide falls flare daintily in a striking hor1zontal position. Both standards and falls are beautifully fluted. Provmg an excellent parent of new whites with tangerine beards. C of C 52, H. M. '53. $10.00.
From Marble Iris Gardens catalog, 1957: CATHEDRAL BELLS (Wallace 1953). M. 42 in. A very fine new flaring pink with a hint of shrimp in its make-up. It is light colored but definitely pink with serrated edges. The falls flare horizontally giving the Iris a stately grace. This was one of the Iris that attracted most of the attention at the Boston Iris Convention. It is a wonderful Iris. H.M. 1953; A.M. 1956. Each $5.00.
 
From Iris Test Garden catalog, 1955: CATHEDRAL BELLS: M. D. Wallace '53). M., 38 inches. (Hager blend x Overture) x (Golden Spangle x Pink Tower). Tall, wide light pink:with serrated edges. Falls flare horizontally. Although the color is light it is of a definite pinkness. It has such quality that it is sure to make a very fine parent. H. M. '53. $12.00.
