Bunyard's 1929 catalog gives "Cebalieri. A most striking and handsome new Iris, the whole plant being perfectly proportioned, well branched and of splendid constitution. The colour of the flowers is a very rich velvety plum purple with almost a black effect on the falls....4-ft...June... each 105/-"
